Soraya is an energetic performer, instructor and choreographer in a variety of dances, including Salsa, Merengue, Cha cha cha, Bachata, Samba, Lambada, Axe, and Afro Peruvian dance.
She has been passionate about
dance since the age of five, when
she started performing with the Meninos Band in Peru. She has
been involved in fitness, dance and
the performing arts her entire life and has extensive training in gymnastics, fitness, Latin and Brazilian dance. Soraya has been performing and choreographing Afro Peruvian, Latin, and Brazilian Dances for over ten years.
Soraya was member of the dance company Peru Danza, Son Atento Band, Circo de Mill Oficios, Danca Brasil, Steps Dance Company, TropiCaliente Latin Dancers, Cairo Ala Nar and Circus Entertainment. Soraya has performed at very well known dance congresses and festivals in Peru, Bermuda, Montreal, Puerto Rico, New York, Niagara Falls and Toronto.
Over the last 10 years,Soraya has shared her passion for dancing, with her students, first in Lima, Peru and now here in Toronto. She has taught for
MIAG (Multicultural Inter Agency Group of Peel), Humber College, The City of Toronto, Love to Dance, Steps and Train by Trina.
Along with dancing, she is a group fitness instructor, Soraya has taught a variety of fitness classes including Aerobics, Steps, Cardio Salsa, and Sexy Latin dance for women, in which she adds her Latin flair.
With her combination of fitness and dancing skills, Soraya aims not only to assist others on the path to fitness but to conduct classes that are fun and energetic and unleash the hidden dancer in her students.
